This award enters us as a nominee for the HIA Australia Professional Medium Builder/Renovator, and award that will be announced in mid-2024. We cannot wait to see the results of this national recognition and grateful to have been recognised on a national level.

Housing Industry Association
The Housing Industry Association (HIA) play a key role in representing Australia’s housing market and its professionals, and they have done for over 75 years. They believe in reinforcing a high standard of integrity, encouraging the industry to build sustainably and with the client in mind.
HIA Awards provide home builders and designers with the opportunity to receive recognition for outstanding projects, as well as showcase their work to the broader industry. HIA selects individuals with experience and knowledge in residential building practices to judge the annual entries thoroughly and without bias to select the winners. Winners and finalists represent the industry leaders in Perth and potentially the nation.
Their awards reflect their passion for quality housing and recognising the highest quality builders and trades across WA. Judged by a diverse range of professionals from the construction industry, the awards represent the best construction and design and showcase the best homes each year.
Master Builders Australia
Master Builders is an organisation that has been supporting Australian builders and tradespeople since 1898. MBA assists their members in adhering to regulation. They provide advice on keeping worksites safe and how to excel within the construction industry.
MBA curates a team of judges with advanced construction knowledge to assess the quality of the home’s construction and the attention to detail and care demonstrated by the builder.
The Master Builders-Bankwest Excellence in Construction, Housing and Regional Building Awards program showcases and rewards members for demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship, commitment to building excellence, and upholding the highest professional standard.
Medium Builder of the Year
- Medium Builder of the Year (MBWA Housing Excellence 2020 & 2022 Winner)
The Zircon Living team were awarded ‘Medium Builder of the Year’ by Master Builders Western Australia in 2020 and have been given the same award again in 2022, a prize we are incredibly proud of. This repeated winning of this award demonstrates our excellence in delivering quality homes, exceeding client’s expectations in construction, design and customer service, a standard we have been constantly improving for over 40 years. A medium builder specifies a team dedicated to producing quality work whilst achieving great value for money, and we are proud to be representative of the best in our field.

The Wattlebird Apartments ensure simple living is delivered elegantly, demonstrating the proficiency of our astute designer. Nature is carefully interwoven with the design, bringing the beauty of the West Australian landscape into the home. Overall, the Bayswater exemplifies the ability of our design team to produce affluent spaces created for functional living.

The Breige has been designed to maximise space on a four-unit site. Internally, living spaces have large glass fenestrations, increasing the potential for passively lighting the home and minimising reliance on artificial light. External exposed brick features are well finished and provide a simple contrast to concrete rendering. Junctures are well finished and simple, ensuring the units will last for years to come.
Small Commercial Project of the Year
- Steph Audino Couture (HIA Perth 2022 Finalist – Small Commercial Project; MBWA Excellence in Construction 2023 Finalist – Best Building Fit-Out Under $1,500,000)
The Housing Industry Association Perth (HIA Perth) award ‘Small Commercial Project of the Year’ to a small, non-residential project that is deemed by an esteemed panel of judges to have been of the highest calibre, specifically in design. Similarly, MBWA’s ‘Best Building Fit-Out Under $1,500,000’ Excellence in Construction award recognises a project that exceeds client expectation and demonstrates excellence in construction.
The studio, rich in texture yet subtle in colour, provides an amazing backdrop for her clients and pieces, ensuring every studio experience is a great one. Textured floors create a tactile experience, allowing the space to adapt to Steph and her team’s needs. The dressing rooms are a unique experience, with sleek glass and minimalist white emphasising the client and their gorgeous garment.

The Housing Industry Association Perth (HIA Perth) award ‘Townhouse of the Year’ to a townhouse that is deemed by an esteemed panel of judges to have been of the highest calibre, specifically in design.
The Skillion is an excellent example of the potential for passively lit design. A small internal courtyard ensures ample cross ventilation within the home and fills the hallway and adjacent rooms with soft, natural light. Essential to the home’s layout is the expert placement of windows, creating a connection from the front to the back of the home.

- The Urban Development (MBA Perth Housing Excellence 2023 Finalist – Best Contract Home – $250,000 – $320,000)
The Master Builders Western Australia (MBWA) Housing Excellence award for ‘Best Contract Home’ is granted to a home built for clients that is deemed by an esteemed panel of judges to have been of the highest calibre with a focus on construction.
The design of the units was intentionally neutral, with a stunning brown feature brick to add a unique contrast to their facades. Each unit consists of three bedrooms and two bathrooms, perfect for a young family looking for their first home. Entertaining and spending time as a family is a breeze, with a generous theatre room to enjoy movies with the kids.
